Biokia products are manufactured by Kiantama Oy, a Finnish food industry company based in the heart of Finland’s northern berry-growing region. Kiantama manufactures and markets safe, high-quality berry products for retail, institutional catering and food, health-food and cosmetics industries. Our mission is to further the processing of Nordic wild berries and to create new ways for our customers to incorporate wild forest berries in their everyday diet.

The raw materials for our products grow in the unpolluted wilderness; they contain no artificial flavourings, preservatives or pesticides. We are ISO 22 000, Kosher and Halal certified. We have had organic certification since 1999.

Our core values are purity, health and fairness. We also make every effort to ensure that berry pickers receive appropriate compensation for their work. All of our operations comply with the guidelines of the ISO 26 000 social responsibility standard. Kiantama’s Biokia products have been issued the Food from Finland Swan Flag, which denotes food products that contain no less than 75 percent Finnish ingredients |
Kiantama’s production plants and freezing facilities are located in the municipality of Suomussalmi in the Kainuu region. The nearest airports are in Kajaani and Oulu. Kajaani is located about 100 kilometres southwest of Suomussalmi, along Highway 5, and Oulu is located about 200 kilometres to the west. |
